About the event

Discover Lima’s Rich Colonial Heritage on a Walking Tour!

Lima, founded in 1535 as the capital of the Spanish Viceroyalty in the Americas, is a city where history comes to life. Its well-preserved colonial architecture from the 16th century offers a journey back in time.

Explore Lima’s Main Square, home to the city’s most significant landmarks, including the Cathedral of Lima and the Government Palace.

A highlight of your visit will be Casa Aliaga, a unique colonial mansion that has been home to the renowned Aliaga family since 1535. Now in its 17th generation, it holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously inhabited dwelling in the Americas. Over the centuries, the house has been rebuilt and adapted, yet it remains a living testament to Lima’s history, blending original architecture with artistic and evocative interior spaces. Lunch is included. Duration is 5 hrs.

What to Wear: Comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
